This huge collection (my hardcover has pages of stories) includes many important classic short story writers and I enjoyed most of them. But what made this collection educational and awesome is the editor's short forward on each story, placing the reader in the author's time and place, telling us of the author's influence (or perhaps lack of) on the writing world and the short story 4/5.   Books Music Art & design has changed our sense of what the short story can do as radically as Chekhov and Mansfield did at the beginning of the 20th century. These are GQ's hands-down, most emphatically favorite works of fiction from the new millennium, numbered, but not ranked, plus all the books from the past thirteen years the authors want you to . The creativity, color and design variation of books is showcased better in children's books than perhaps any other genre. With bright patterns, gorgeous cover design and often fantastic illustration, these are books meant to excite the eyes as well as the mind. From the 20th century and earlier, enjoy these beautiful, collectible children's books.
